Make AI home decor ads with believable placement

A home decor ad helps a shopper imagine placement, but a generated room should not invent the product’s size. Start with the supplied item and a real spatial relationship: on a shelf, beside a sofa or on a tabletop. Keep enough of the surroundings visible to explain placement without making an unverified fit claim.

Choose the placement question

Hypothetical example: a shop supplies photographs of a ribbed vase and a photograph of a console table. Vase dimensions, material and water suitability are unknown. The ad can illustrate the vase on the console and preserve its ribbed appearance. It should not claim that it fits a narrow shelf or holds fresh flowers safely without supporting information.

A room photograph establishes layout, but it does not automatically establish measurements. A generated sofa or hand is not a ruler. If exact proportion matters, obtain confirmed dimensions or a real photograph of the product in the intended placement. See showing product scale honestly before adding size-specific copy.

Keep styling subordinate to the object

Use a quiet background and one supporting prop at most for the first version. Several plants, books and wall pictures may be believable in a still photograph but create a cluttered moving scene. If flowers are only styling, say so in the production brief; avoid making them appear included in the purchase.

Hypothetical console-table direction:
Vase rests on the photographed console, ribbing visible.
Camera makes a slow, small move closer, then settles.
Preserve vase silhouette and the room photograph’s layout.
No floating objects, rearranged furniture or added labels.
No material, size or water-use statement unless supplied.

Choose motion that reveals the item rather than redesigning the room. A wide orbit can show the unseen back of the vase or change the furniture arrangement. If the source contains only a front view, stay close to that view.

Make the room look internally consistent

Light should explain the shadows under the vase and nearby furniture. Perspective should give the console one stable height. Do not ask the room to be simultaneously a compact bedroom and a spacious gallery. Record lighting, palette and location in the seven-field scene style block.

• Keep the product’s original colour within the room palette.
• Preserve the contact point and shadow under its base.
• Keep furniture positions fixed through the movement.
• Finish with the object’s whole silhouette readable.

Review the placement claim the image makes

Even without words, the clip can imply a scale, use or included accessory. Check those implications against the supplied facts.
