How to make AI beauty ads for makeup and skincare

Beauty is one of the formats AI UGC suits best. The grammar is familiar (a creator at a vanity, a product in hand, one application to camera) and the action is small and slow, exactly what video models handle well. It's also a category where an ad can mislead easily, so this tutorial covers both: how to make a beauty ad look right, and how to keep it honest.

Three examples

All three are AI-generated, five seconds each, and follow the same pattern: one product, one application, one short reaction.

Blush, then go. An AI-generated UGC ad: a get-ready creator sweeps on blush at her bathroom vanity.
Lashes in a minute. An AI-generated UGC ad: a creator draws on winged eyeliner at her makeup table.
One coat, ready to go. An AI-generated UGC ad: a creator brushes on mascara at a bathroom mirror before heading out.

A sweep of blush, a winged liner, a coat of mascara. Each creator reacts to how it looks ("Wait, that's actually so pretty"; "Guys, I'm ready to go") rather than to what the product claims to do. Every one of them could be your product.

Step 1: pick one application

Choose the single moment that shows the product best, and build the ad around it:

Avoid full routines in one clip. Cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise is four actions and four products, and none of them will come out right.

Step 2: get the product exactly right

Beauty packaging is small, shiny and covered in fine text, which is the hardest thing for a video model to hold. Give it:

Then check the colour. Generated lighting shifts shades, and a warm bathroom light can turn a cool pink into peach. If the shade in the video isn't the shade in the pan, change the light in the style direction before anything else. Keeping products and faces consistent explains how product sheets help.

Step 3: choose the place and the person

The vanity is the default for a reason: viewers know it, and it explains why someone is holding makeup. Other settings that work are a makeup table, a bathroom mirror selfie, a bedroom mirror and a restroom touch-up on a night out. Light matters more than location: soft window light or a ring light, never harsh overhead light.

Cast someone who looks like your customer, with realistic skin. Visible texture, a few flyaways and a lived-in bathroom make the ad believable; airbrushed perfection makes it look like an ad.

Step 4: write a line about the look, not the results

This is where beauty ads go wrong. A generated creator has no skin that the product could have changed, so:

Keep it to 5 to 12 words. The steps for making an AI ad cover how to time it.

Step 5: plan the clip

A 10-second plan for a fictional cream blush:

STAGE 1 (0–3 s)
Initial state: @creator at the bathroom vanity, @product open
in her left hand.
Primary action: she dabs two fingers into @product.
Camera: phone at eye level, arm's length, slight handheld sway.
End state: fingers touching her cheek.
Transition: continuous.
Dialogue: none

STAGE 2 (3–7 s)
Initial state: fingers touching her cheek.
Primary action: she blends the colour up toward her temple.
Camera: same angle, slow push in.
End state: hand lowered, cheek flushed with the shade.
Transition: continuous.
Dialogue: "It's a cream, it just melts in."

STAGE 3 (7–10 s)
Initial state: hand lowered, @product in her left hand.
Primary action: she holds @product up beside her cheek, label
to the lens, and smiles.
Camera: same angle.
End state: @product and her cheek both in frame.
Transition: none, the ad ends.
Dialogue: none

Step 6: check it like a beauty editor

Beauty ads in fairytale video

The library has beauty creators ready to use: Chloe, Mia and Lena from the reels above, and creators made for beauty content such as Amara, who makes skincare videos, and Yuna, who makes K-beauty and makeup videos. There are bathroom scenes too, including a bright marble bathroom, a moody spa bathroom at night and a retro pink tile bathroom. Upload your product photos and generate a product sheet with GPT Image 2.5 for 5 credits. Review it, describe the application, approve the line, and generate a paid Seedance 2.5 video at the price shown. Its concept, timed plan, prompt and references stay with the result.
